For years I’ve been wishing for the ability to save recipes on Kitchn (perhaps you have too), and this year it finally happened. Like many readers, I’ve been saving a ton of my recipe favorites, but none more so than slow cooker dinners. These are the recipes that make dinner possible on super-busy nights and have a recurring role in my meal plan.

We have a library of go-to slow cooker recipes, but these were the 10 that our readers saved more often than any others this year.

10. How To Cook a Whole Chicken in Coconut Milk in the Slow Cooker

Now’s a good time to save this chicken dinner if you haven’t already. It’s a dairy-free spin on the Jamie Oliver classic, cooked in coconut milk and flavored with aromatics, like garlic, ginger, and basil. The recipe says that browning the skin under the broiler is optional, but for me, this step is always a must.

9. Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili

This chili can be made with any type of boneless chicken you have handy, but my top pick is always boneless, skinless thighs. They add an extra layer of richness to this dump-and-go chili, and even if I leave the slow cooker going for an hour too long, I know they won’t dry out.

8. How To Cook Classic Beef Brisket in the Slow Cooker

Confession: I made brisket for the first time this year with this recipe, and all I could think afterwards was, “How have I not been making slow cooker brisket all along?” No wonder so many readers are saving this one. It’s surprisingly simple, and delivers the most richly tender and juicy meat.

7. Slow Cooker Chicken Burrito Bowls

I’m not at all surprised to see these comforting yet wholesome bowls in the top 10. They are one of my favorite examples of how the slow cooker makes a home-cooked dinner possible on busy nights.

6. Slow Cooker Chicken Marsala

Here’s the easiest way to bring the Italian-American restaurant classic to the dinner table. It has a relatively short cook time for the slow cooker, which makes it an ideal candidate for weekend evenings.

5. Slow Cooker Honey Teriyaki Chicken

It’s time to bring chicken teriyaki into your meal plan, then keep it in the regular rotation. Chicken thighs are the right choice for this take on takeout because their meaty flavor isn’t overshadowed by the rich teriyaki sauce and they are more forgiving than chicken breasts.

4. Slow Cooker Curried Vegetable and Chickpea Stew

This vegan stew has long been one of my slow cooker favorites, and I’m glad to see so many readers enjoy it just as much. It’s adaptable to almost any veggies you have on hand, and it makes a lot, which means multiple days of leftovers for lunch.

3.

If the stuffing or dressing is your favorite part of Thanksgiving, this slow cooker favorite will be right up your alley. Think of it as a French bread stew that’s a tiny bit brothy like French onion soup.

2. How To Make Slow Cooker General Tso’s Chicken

A takeout favorite you can make at home always feel like a giant win to me. Add the slow cooker to the equation, and that’s pretty much code for easy as can be.

1. Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala

Of all the slow cooker recipes on the site (and there are many!), readers have been coming back to this Indian-inspired classic again and again. Not only is chicken tikka masala totally doable at home, but when the slow cooker is involved it also couldn’t be easier.
